A New Family Member
The stork was kind enough to deliver Brutus yesterday. Actually, he was delivered by A's co-worker, Dan. Dan had to sell his house and is not able to keep Brutus. He didn't want to give him up, but had no other option. After some thought, A and I agreed to take him in (the dog, not Dan).
We took the dogger to a park for a run at 6:30 this morning ... he was wiped out after 20 minutes!
Brutus is a brindle-coat Boxer and he is almost three years old. He is potty trained and knows some commands. Don't let the name deceive you ... he is quite a lover! He is still getting used to our voices, but he has been behaving pretty well. He peed in the house yesterday when he got too excited ... we have started being consistent about making him "go potty" outside before bringing him in and that seems to have put a stop to the inside dribble. No accidents today so far! Brutus has hesitated to eat his food since he's arrived. I believe it's because he is still getting used to the new environment.
Chelsea the German Shepherd and Rosie the mut really want to come over and introduce themselves now that Brutus is here. They have eaten two holes in the fence and A has repaired it twice. Brutus thinks they are pretty cool even though they are breaking and entering. Brutus is fixed ... if the girls do break in, the three of them can party all they want and no one has to worry about ramifications.
We are a tad concerned about Sandy. Not surprisingly, she has been missing since Brutus arrived. She doesn't really like others, so we figure she is pouting somewhere in the neighborhood. If you have seen her, please let us know!
